For those of you who like a bit of spice in your meals, here’s my recipe for a great chili sauce that’s very tasty but also very low in calories.
I put this recipe together by mixing up a few different South American recipes for aji (chili sauce) and then changed it around some more to make it extra healthy.
It’s very quick and easy to make, so give it a try!
Add the following ingredients into a blender:
- 4 medium-sized egg tomatoes, cut into pieces
- Juice from one lemon
- Half a largish red Spanish onion, cut into pieces
- 5 to 20 small hot chilis (depending on how hot you like it!)
- 3 teaspoons of salt
- 2 teaspoons of coarse-milled black pepper
And that’s it! Just blend it for a few minutes and keep it refrigerated.
It turns out fairly runny so make sure you stir or mix it up a bit each time you use it because it does settle a bit over time.
