When I’m talking about fitness to non-fitness people, one of my favorite lines to hear is “life’s too short!”.
I heard it again last week. If someone is truly happy being unhealthy and overweight, then no one can argue with that. But I haven’t ever come across anyone who really is. They might say they’re happy, but you can see in their eyes that they aren’t, and you can see it in the way they look at clothes they can’t wear and people they’d like to be with, and you can hear it in the way they complain about being in pain and being tired and not being able to do things and not sleeping well and so on.
Unhealthy people think that fitness is about a life of pain and misery. But it isn’t, only changing is difficult, once you get past that stage you actually enjoy it. So the irony is that they accept a life of unhappiness and pain, just to avoid a lifetime of pain that only exists in their mind. Personally, the unhealthy lifestyle is something I can never ever go back to.
Life’s too short!
