When you work out a few times a week, it’s very easy to get a comfortable feeling that you’re not lazy. That’s because compared to most people, you’re not – you’re much more healthy and active than them. But you can still become lazy even if you are working out regularly!
You need to keep asking yourself whether you’re making the most from your workouts, or whether you’re just in a comfortable routine and going through the motions.
Ask yourself questions like these: Am I pushing myself more each day, or just making the same old effort day in and day out? Do I rely on the same, familiar exercises, or do I make the effort to vary my workouts as much as I can to keep challenging my body? Do I focus a lot on my favorite muscle groups, and forget about the ones that I hate exercising? Do I spend a bit too much time chatting at the gym?
If you look around the gym, there are so many people who mean well, after all at least they showed up, but are really there more to feel better rather than to actually become better. Make sure you avoid becoming one of these people!
