I thought I would write a quick post for those of you who, like me, love your GYMBOSS interval timer and depend on it every day for your workouts.
I’m on my second timer at the moment after my first one failed me after 6 months of use, or so I thought! What I discovered after my second interval timer (the one I currently have) also stopped working is that they actually have some sort of a glitch where they can stop working altogether and go completely dead.
They aren’t actually broken when that happens however, they just need to be rebooted and then they are good to go once again.
If you look at the photo you’ll see that on the left hand side of the timer there’s a tiny hole labelled REBOOT. It’s shown by the top white arrow. By sticking something like a paperclip into the hole to press the button inside, you’ll reboot the timer and get it going again.
Oftentimes when you’re in the middle of your workout you don’t have a paperclip handy, so Fabian actually made up a little reboot tool for me (see the bottom white arrow) by coiling up a paperclip. I keep it with my timer so that whenever it stops, I can get it going again immediately. This tool saved me last week when the timer stopped for the second time. Very handy!!
I discovered this little tip about the GYMBOSS when my current timer stopped working some time back. Luckily for me, I found it before buying my third one, and better still, I hadn’t yet thrown out my first one. So now I have two working timers . . . both hot pink of course!
Now, before you leave comments telling me that this information is actually in the instructions for the GYMBOSS, I know that . . . now! I just thought I might save some frustration for anyone who hates reading instructions as much as I do!!
