Have you ever bought a car, and then suddenly noticed how they seem to be everywhere you look, even the same color as yours?
That’s the part of your brain called your Reticular Activating System (RAS) working. It decides which part of the huge amount of information you’re exposed to each day gets filtered out, and what small part it lets though. It works like a radio receiver, that’s tuned to just one frequency and blocks out everything else.
When you focus on your goals, your RAS sees to it that all the information, resources and opportunities you need to reach that goal come to you. By being in the fitness game, keeping an interest in it, and having your focus there, you’ll learn what your body needs, how it feels, what works for it, and what doesn’t.
You’ll become your own fitness expert, and you’ll progress so much faster than if you relied on other people to tell you what you need to do all the time. Suddenly you’ll find that everything comes easier to you.
Women who never give their fitness a thought until they have to, like while they’re working out, are missing out on a world of valuable resources, both from their body and other sources, that are right under their noses yet totally invisible to them.
