People That Drag You Down

I’ve been a regular gym-goer for years now, but since I joined Team Bombshell several months ago, I’ve been training much more seriously than ever before.  I have a close friend who still gets annoyed with the fact that I go to the gym every day and train so hard, even though I talk to him every day (we work together) and he knows by now how serious I am about my dream of being a very successful bikini competitor.  He talks about it in a way that implies, why are you wasting time with this silliness, even though he doesn’t actually say that.

I’m sure that if you lead a healthy fitness lifestyle, you will have experienced this too from friends or family.  The fact is, if we had been wasting hours each day surfing the net or playing video games, or spending time playing the piano or writing a book, none of our friends would be the least bit annoyed, would they?

The reason they get annoyed by us eating well or exercising is that they feel guilty about being too weak and lazy to do what they know they should be doing themselves, and we’re a constant reminder of that guilt.

Don’t let these people drag you down.  Understand that you’re a positive role model for others, and you actually help people by your example, if they’re ready to be helped.  Those who aren’t ready will always be quick to judge and complain, so that they can feel better about themselves.  If that happens, the best you can do for them is to just smile and hope that they’ll wake up before it’s too late.
